Limyra & Kekova Tour
Our daily tour of the ancient city of Limyra, Demre district and Kekova Island will accompany you free of charge. You will visit both historical and cultural regions and join the boat tour in Kekova Sunken City. Apart from Limyra, you will also visit an ancient city in Demre. You will visit the ancient city of Myra, which has a magnificent view and history in the hill region of Demre. These two cities have a very deep-rooted history. You will discover and examine these places with our guide. You will both make a correct sightseeing tour and take part in an educational trip by learning historical information. In Demre district, you will visit the most popular St. Nicholas Church outside of the ancient city, which is visited by tourists only for this church. Saint Nicholas is also known as Santa Claus.
In this tour we have made as a day trip to Kemer, you first visit Limra, one of the cities of the Lycian Civilization. The ancient city of Limra was once the capital of Lycia. In addition, by participating in this tour and visiting the Ancient City of Limyra, you will participate in the water city cultural tour, or you can visit our "Myra Deme Kekova" tour instead of Limra as another option. After Limyra Ancient City, you will visit Demre district. Demre is a small village, but it is a rich place with its historical and cultural heritage. In particular, millions of tourists visit the Santa Claus Museum every year. You will discover the district of Demre with our guide.
After Demre district, you will participate in a boat tour in Kekova Sunken City. During the boat tour, there are no stops or swimming breaks because this place is under protection. The reason why it is a Sunken City is because of a series of earthquakes and rising sea level centuries ago, Kekova Island was flooded. Some of the historical artifacts on the island have been flooded, some have been spilled, broken, and some have survived. By visiting Kekova, you will have visited a wonderful nature. In addition, you will be able to examine all of the historical artifacts that were under water, as the water is clear blue.
